Camp Fee
  1. For Summer 2019, the summer camp fee will be $335.
  2. This is an increase of $15 over the 2018 camp fee.
  3. The increase in camp fee will assist us with the following:
    1. Hire additional staff members necessary to expand merit badge and program offerings;
    2. Retain and attract quality staff members;
    3. Continue to keep the camp staff to camper ratio to 1:4;
    4. Purchase program equipment associated with expanding our camp program especially our Trade Skills and STEM merit badge offerings;
    5. Assist with the costs associated with bringing a robust internet feed to camp; and,
    6. Assist with the construction of 38 additional adirondacks for the summer.
  4. The camp fee is all-inclusive and covers the cost of all merit badge supplies. Except for Scouts who choose to complete the CPR for the Professional Health Provider certification (CPro), at summer camp, as part of the BSA Lifeguard or the COPE & Climbing Instructor -in-Training programs. The CPro fee is an additional $50.
  5. The early bird fee will be $315.
  6. Campers who make a $105 deposit by Thursday, March 14, the early bird deadline, receive a $20 discount on the total camp fee.
  7. Camp Payment Schedule
    1. Payment 1: $110 due Thursday, March 28
    2. Payment 2: $110 due Thursday, April 25
    3. Payment 3: $115 due Thursday, May 23
  8. Late fee: $10. After Thursday, May 23, a $10 fee will be added to the registration fee.
  9. NOTE: All Scouts who transition from Cub Scouts to Scouts BSA after the March 14 early bird deadline or join your unit as a new Scout after the March 14 early bird deadline will receive the lowest fee available. They will be subject to the $315 early bird fee.
  10. The Provisional fee is $355.
  11. The Day Camper fee is $165.
  12. Remember that camperships are available for Scouts for who the camp fee may be a barrier to attending summer camp. Typically, camperships cover at least one-third of the camp fee. The campership deadline is Thursday, April 25.
  13. The adult leader fee is $130.
  14. The early bird fee does not apply to adults.

  2. This chart shows the campsite availability for the summer.
  3. To make a reservation, please submit the campsite reservation form along with the $50 deposit to Kristina Edmondson (Kristina.edmondson@scouting.org) at the Old North State Council Office.
  4. Should the female Scouts BSA troop not manifest, we will refund the $50 to the sponsoring organization.
  5. The message here: Do not wait to make a campsite reservation. Camp is filling quickly. Secure your space now.

Online Merit Badge Registration System
Online Payments
  1. You will be able to use our online merit badge registration system, Summer Camp Systems, to make camp fee payments online.
  2. Parents/caretakers will be able to make payments online.
  3. In order for parents/caretakers to make online payments using the Summer Camp Systems, each camper must have a unique identifier.
  4. We will use the campers BSA ID number as this unique identifier.
  5. In the coming days, you will receive an email from Jason Coe, our technical consultant, with directions on how to add the BSA ID number for the Scouts you already have loaded in the merit badge registration system. The email will come from support@sumercampsytems.com.

Emergency Contact System
  1. We will use the emergency contact / mass contact tools available in Summer Camp Systems. This will allow us to communicate with parents/caretakers of the Scouts in camp should we need to release a mass communication.
  2. For this to happen, each camper must have an active email address associated with their profile.
  3. To assist you with this, for Old North State Council units, we will pull the names and data for all of the Scouts in your unit from ScoutNet. We will upload this data into Summer Camp Systems. This will populate the email and contact information fields for the Scouts already in Summer Camp Systems and add new Scouts in your unit to the merit badge registration system. This is another reason all of the Scouts currently in the system must have their BSA ID numbers added.
  4. For our out-of-council units, we will develop a secure method for you to share this data with us using an Excel file. Once we have the Excel file, we will upload the data to the merit badge system for you.
  5. We will develop a method to add the adults in your unit into the system as well. We will use the emergency management communications tool to text / email adult leaders should an emergency arise during camp.
  6. We will discuss this further at the February Summer Camp Kick Off Meeting.

Construction Update
Adirondacks
  1. The contractor has begun to prepare the foundations for 38 adirondacks we will build this winter.
  2. Construction on the walls and roofs will begin in the near year.
Council Ring
  1. A contractor has been selected to install concrete steps, with a handrail, down the center aisle of the council ring.
  2. Council ring improvements include: lights along the steps, erosion control, and increased handicap accessibility.

Trade Skills Shop & STEM Shop
  1. The Trade Skills Shop & STEM Lab remains in the budget and design phase.
  2. We anticipate the Trade Skills Shop & STEM Lab will be ready for Summer 2019

If I can assist you in your preparation for Summer 2019, please do not hesitate to contact me.
