CSR Hurricane Workdays Announced + Bring Your Chainsaws and Safety Equipment

1/11/2019

The two hurricanes that struck North Carolina this fall caused a considerable number of trees to fall at Cherokee. Many of these trees are in or near campsites creating a safety hazard for our campers.

CSR, in conjunction with the OA Lodge, will host three workdays this winter specifically for fallen tree removal.
 + Saturday, January 26
 + Saturday, February 23
 + Saturday, March 23

Each workday will start at 8:30 am and end at 4:30 pm.

Lunch will be provided.

If you can attend, please RSVP using this form so we have enough food on hand.

Each Saturday morning, plan to meet at the Commissary to review the BSA safety protocols of chainsaw use and receive your work project.

If you can, please bring your own sharpened, fueled chainsaw and safety equipment. The camp has some chainsaws for adult leaders over 21 to use.

Please encourage others to join us for a day of hard work, cheerful service, fun, and fellowship.

Direct questions to Camp Director Bud Harrelson at bud.harrelson@scouting.org.
