Environmental Science Merit Badge

​While earning the Environmental Science merit badge, Scouts will get a taste of what it is like to be an environmental scientist, making observations and carrying out experiments to investigate the natural world.

  • Environmental Science is one of the required merit badges for the World Conservation Award for Boy Scouts,
  • Environmental Science is one of the required merit badges for the William T. Hornaday awards for Boy Scouts and Varsity Scouts.
  • Environmental Science merit badge is an option for the National Outdoor Badge for Conservation.

Scouts can choose to earn Sustainability instead.
